What is the Social Battery® assessment?

The Social Battery assessment is a 35-question self-assessment in Sunny Workplace® that identifies what energizes you and what drains you at work. It has three parts: Personality, Capacity, and Propensity. Every question uses the same five-point agreement scale. Completing all three parts gives you your Social Battery type, one of 27 types that helps you, your teammates, and your manager understand how you work best.

Part 1: Personality

Explains why and when social interaction energizes or drains you. Three sections: Social Drive, Social Sensitivity, and Intensity Preferences (17 questions).

Part 2: Capacity

Looks at when you naturally experience energy peaks, dips, and recovery. Two sections: Energy Stability, and Time & Load (10 questions).

Part 3: Propensity

Explores how you prefer to think, decide, and collaborate, and how that influences your energy. Two sections: Cognitive Tempo, and Collaboration Preferences (8 questions).

How the questions work

Every question is a short statement you rate on the same five-point scale, from “Strongly disagree” to “Strongly agree.” There are no right or wrong answers. The assessment describes how you work; it doesn’t grade you.

Pausing and resuming

You can pause at any point during the assessment by selecting the pause button. Once there, you can:

  1. Choose “Resume assessment” to pick up at the section you left off on.
  2. Choose “Restart” to clear your progress and start again from the first section.

When you finish

Completing all three parts gives you your Social Battery type, one of 27 types shown as a three-letter code. You will be redirected to About Me page, where you can see your results.
